Our Onesie Debut on One Life to Live!

A few weeks ago, Devon received an order for a personalized baby onesie from the props director for the daytime soap One Life to Live.

I am a total One Life to Live junkie! I have watched this show for many, many years (I think my mom started my addiction) and Tivo it every day!

When Devon received this email he told me what the phrase was that the lady wanted on the onesie: "Oh, great one's kid!" He asked me if that phrase meant anything on the show and I couldn't think of anything. So, we just assumed she was giving the onesie to a friend or something.

You can imagine my surprise when I turned on the TV yesterday to watch OLTL and saw our onesie on national TV! I couldn't believe it! The story line shows Starr's boyfriend, Cole, returning back to their apartment and he tells her he has a surprise gift for her. Then, he pulls out the onesie, the camera zooms in on the onesie, and Starr is excited! Cole tells her he found a shop, on the boardwalk, where they made it for him. Then, they go on and make a big deal about the phrase on the shirt.

I just couldn't believe it! Devon took some freeze frame shots from the TV, last night, for us to share. Take a look...Isn't that the coolest! Out of all the daytime shows, it happened to be the one that I dutifully watch every day...how bizarre is that! Thank goodness for Tivo, right!

Someone shared this with me a few years ago. With Mother's Day coming up, I thought all of us mothers could relate to this...enjoy!

If You Give A Mom A Muffin

If you give a mom a muffin, she'll want a cup of juice to go with it. She'll pour herself some. Her three-year-old will spill the juice. She'll wipe it up. Wiping the floor, she will find dirty socks. She'll remember she has to do laundry. When she puts the laundry in the washer, she'll trip over boots and bump into the freezer. Bumping into the freezer will remind her she has to plan supper. She will get out a pound of hamburger. She'll look for her cookbook. (101 Things To Make With A Pound Of Hamburger.) The cookbook is sitting under a pile of mail. She will see the phone bill, which is due tomorrow. She will look for her checkbook. The checkbook is in her purse that is being dumped out by her two-year-old. She'll smell something funny. She'll change the two-year-old. While she is changing the two-year-old the phone will ring. Her five-year-old will answer and hang up. She'll remember that she wants to phone a friend to come for juice. Thinking of juice will remind her that she was going to have a cup. She will pour herself some. And chances are, if she has a cup of juice, her kids will have eaten the muffin that went with it.

My Unlucky Dollar Bill

As many of you know, I have committed myself to listening to the radio to win $25,000.

I have also instructed the husband and the children NOT to touch my lucky dollar bill that I stashed away in the ash tray of my car. That way, if I needed to call the radio station, while in the car, my lucky dollar bill could be easily accessed.

Friday, I took my car in to have the oil changed and washed (they actually wash it for you after they change the oil--it's a very nice combination).

Later, that day, when I heard the contest announced on the radio, I quickly grabbed my cell phone and reached for my dollar bill...IT WAS NOT THERE!!

I called the husband, he didn't take it (he didn't dare!).

The children hadn't been in the car, so they didn't take it!

Where is my dollar bill???

I am blaming the guy who changed my oil or the guy who washed the car...I think one of them stole my lucky dollar bill!

Aaahhh!!! I wonder how often I leave there with change missing from my ash tray.

Good thing I didn't tip the guy--he tipped himself!

I guess my lucky dollar bill wasn't so lucky after all.

What I'm Doing Today

Today I would rather be...

• Laying on the beach, somewhere in the Virgin Islands soaking up the sun and drinking a cold drink.
• In Nashville, kissing my new niece, spending time with my family, and meeting my brothers girlfriend.
• At the spa getting a massage, facial, pedicure, and manicure.
• Going to the movies and admiring McDreamy on the big screen.
  
• Taking a nap.
• Spending my imaginary $25,000 at the mall, nearest car dealership, or local travel agency.
  

However, today, I am actually doing this...

• Discovering that the quick $20 I put in my gas tank yesterday has already been gobbled up. Yes, 20 bucks for 5 gallons...isn't that insane!
  
• Realizing that an hour is not enough time to take a shower and get dressed, dress the kids, feed the kids, pack lunches, and make sure all beds are made, dishes are done and house is clean before I leave (in case anyone drops by to see the house while I am gone) and fill the car up with gas before leaving to teach my class.
  
• Freaking out because the oil light, in the car, comes on while on my way home from my class.
• Rushing to get the oil changed and making a quick stop at Target for laundry soap and a birthday present for Taylors friend.
  
• Shaking a sippy cup to mix the chocolate milk and discovering I hadn't put the lid on yet.
  
• Reminding Luke to aim into the center of the toilet while cleaning up the splashes around it.
• Wishing I was In Nashville with my brother and sister or somewhere tropical without any stress or worries.
• Realizing it's only 1:00 in the afternoon and I still have so much more to do.
  

P.S. My lucky dollar bill has found no matches...sorry, no winners this time!

Taylor turns 6!

Wednesday we celebrated Taylor's 6th Birthday! Wow! I can't believe how fast six years goes by...when did I blink? She has brought so much joy, fun, and laughter into our home. Here is what we love about Taylor:

• T is for Taurus. Which means she is patient and reliable, warmhearted and loving, persistent and determined, and placid and security loving. Taylor really is ALL of these things.
• A is for Artistic. Taylor is quite the artist. She is constantly coloring, painting, and drawing pictures or making crafts to display in the home or give to friends.
• Y is for You are her friend for life. Taylor has a great capacity to make friends. She is very affectionate and generous towards her friends and once you are her friend she is loyal and true.
  
• L is for Love. Taylor loves everything! She loves her family and tells them daily. She loves to eat sweets, she loves school, she loves making up games for her brothers to play, she loves watching movies, and loves helping her mom clean up. She always has a good attitude and truly loves everything and everyone!
• O is for Oh, she can be very strong-willed sometimes...she doesn't like to be wrong!
• R is for Really great daughter! She is always trying to please everyone and make everyone around her happy. There is never a dull moment around our house when she is around.

My Lucky Dollar Bill

The other day, I was driving in the car listening to the radio when they announced "What's New For You." In other words, what's new for you...a new car, a new house, new kitchen, a dream vacation to New York, etc. Then, they announced that if you were the lucky caller, you could possibly win $25,000.

Of course, my mind began to whirl and fantasize about winning the 25 Grand and all that I would do if I won.

I began listening for the cue times to call in and what you needed to do to play. The rules are you must have a one-dollar bill to play and be the lucky caller.

Since then, I have kept a one-dollar bill stashed in my car and have labeled it my "Lucky Dollar Bill." Devon tried to spend it the other day and I wouldn't allow it. Once I told him it was my "Lucky Dollar Bill" he grinned and put it back in it's place.

I have been listening for those times to call in and have yet to be the lucky caller. Those dang phone lines keep giving me a busy signal!

If I do happen to get through, and be the lucky caller, then the first four numbers on my dollar bill have to match the numbers in their sealed envelope. If all numbers match, I could win 25 Grand!
