Chips and Cake for Dinner!

Life, as always, has been HECTIC!

I always assume that once school is out (which it has been for 2 1/2 weeks) that life will slow down and I will be able to pamper myself with much needed "ME" time. However, that has not been the case!

As the saying goes, "When it rains, it POURS!" Well, it has been pouring at our house.

Here are a few things I have learned in the past couple weeks:
  • Just because school is out and you are no longer in constant contact with other grimy/germy children doesn't mean you can't get STREP THROAT...you can and you WILL!!
  • Recovering from strep throat is even MORE awful when your hubby is out of town and won't be home for 2 days!
  • You will do WHATEVER it takes to make sure your husband completes his Bachelor's Degree by April 2010. Which includes sending him away for 7 1/2 weeks to take classes at another University (only seeing him on the weekends) and doing his homework for him for his online courses.
  • Absence DOES make the Heart grown fonder!
  • Chips, cake, and cookie dough provide much needed comfort when you're alone and especially when you're alone at home watching "The Bachelorette."
  • Realizing your baby brother REALLY is getting married...since when did he learn how to Kiss and look so cute doing it?!
  • Thinking you're the BOMB when you, your mom, and your sister host an awesome (if I say so myself) Bridal Shower for your soon-to-be sister-in-law.
  • Feeling so glad when it's over, but still craving the Chinese Chicken Salad!
  • Spending a week with my sister is, as always, a blast! Especially when WE get to do the spying and teasing to those who are engaged...life is great when the roles are reversed!

Great blog! I figured things must be crazy because we hadn't heard from you for awhile. We need to talk but I can't until I get through this week. We need to catch up in person :) Miss you! Oh, and I hate strep throat!!!

I have missed your blog. I am glad you posted.

And spying on Michael and Anne was pretty fun...too bad we thought he saw us, and had to run back into the house before we saw any action!

I'm glad there was some good busyness to balance the yucky craziness. I totally agree that having the kids out of school is NOT a vacation! It's a lot of fun, but it's also work!

You poor thing. Strep throat stinks. Hope everyone is feeling better. I did Jeff's certification for Word and Dealing with Difficult Customers one time so he could get a raise. He didn't have time at all. So I learned everything and took the test. Terrible I know but I guess I learned something.

It is tough having a husband in school. Hang in there.
The blue gomboo is pretty suckie as well. I swear my kids have been sick since last September. Today the gym made me take them home even though my doctor said they were ok. Should've got a note I guess.
The shower was a hit. Thanks for inviting me. Annes a pretty cute girl. :)

If there's one thing I've learned about Johnson girls is they know how to throw a party! I'm sure the shower was a hit! So sorry to hear about strep...yuck...I'm not sure how you are doing it without the hubby to help out.

P.S. You can serve me cake for dinner ANY DAY!!!!

Oh, I am so sorry to hear that you got the Strep! Chuck had that this week too, no fun. The shower really was so beautiful, you guys did an amazing job. You are doing an incredible job enduring your hubby going through college, you amaze me!

You really are one amazing girl! Hang in there and remember you are married to the university's most motivated student!!!

I'm still laughing about the two of you doing a little spying on your brother in the name of "paybacks". Too funny!!

I love cake and chips for dinner. I can't believe you guys got such a kick out of me and Anne kissing. Whatever! I'm glad you two enjoyed it so much. I still haven't seen those pictures, btw. I need to see if they are as awkward as the others I've seen.

We have experienced the summertime STREP as well (Poor Katelyn!)
And I think I will go back to school if I can convince Megan to do my homework.

Take care and maybe we can get together with you guys someday.

This is the last post I see. You've probably posted since this one, but for some reason I can't see it yet. That has happened to me before, so I'm letting you know that I still check your blog, just in case. :)

Wow I might go to school if someone else would do my work. I hope you are feeling better. Life gets so busy it is hard to keep up with it all. Strep has been going around. I hate it. Love ya
