Dear Kimberly,

From now on, your trips will be so much more enjoyable when you bring a book, such as the "Twilight", by Stephanie Meyer, to read. It will captivate your attention and make the drive go by so much faster! However, once you read the first book, you will not be able to wait to read the second and third and convince your husband how extremely important it is that you buy the next two books right away! Little did you know that your husband would become just as intrigued and excited to read these books along with you as you begin to tell him the storyline and read them aloud on the drive. You will stay up late every night reading together and not be able to put the book down! Also, when your husband makes you ride the Four Wheeler, you will, at first, scream in fear, but then have the time of your life driving it all around. It will make you wish you lived in a place where your kids could grow up driving these through your backyard and over to their friends house to play.
Just so you know, a 14 month old will notice when he doesn't get to ride the 4-wheeler as much as his brother and sister and will get very upset when it's not his turn. AND, he will not want to come inside and will prefer playing outside all day!

Surprisingly, Taylor will love riding the 4-wheeler and scream "faster daddy, faster!"
While you are outside, you will not notice how beautiful the scenery is until after you have taken the pictures and view them once you've returned home.

Luke will love the thrill of the ride and cry every time he has to get off to give someone else a turn!
You will feel somewhat homesick every time you are in Utah and feel constantly reminded of not living close to family and think of all that you are missing out on.

There is nothing like watching a rainstorm out in the distant sky over the moutains. That is something you never see in California!

When your husband wants to visit the Mountain Meadows monument, try to act thrilled and happy to be a part of this expedition, rather than feeling like you have been driven to HELL!
The drive to HELL will be made up for when you enjoy a delicious lunch at a Hibachi Steakhouse.
And, some ice cream at Cold Stone!
But, most of all, you will feel so proud and happy to have finally learned how to use your most recent, favorite toy...a Vinyl Plotter! You will make your first sign with Vinyl Lettering cut out from your very own machine and feel very excited and proud! Your sister-in-law you made it for will love it and you will be very anxious to get your hands on more projects to make more! People can now feel confident coming to you for all their Vinyl Lettering needs!

Fun post! I agree...driving to the Mountain Meadows Massacre Monument would be like driving to Hell! I'm glad you survived! I always love visiting Devon's parents' house...wish we were there! By the way...the link for the book you're reading didn't work. Good thing I already know what it is! Anyway, I'm glad you had fun! Love ya!

Kimberly,
That sounds like a really cool trip.
We wish we could have been there.
Mom and I are going to buy a riding lawn mower for when you come to visit.
I'm sure the kids will love mowing the lawn up and down the hill with grandpa.
I love you sweetie.
Dad

That looks like fun! I think Blake is a full-fledged kid now. He looks like he's really enjoying being outside. I'll bet the kids really enjoyed seeing their cousins. Glad you had a good time. Love ya.

Okay, a few things:

First - aren't the Twilight series the BEST? I read the first one in a day, then ran out the next morning and bought #2 and #3, and read each of them in a day. Because I did nothing for my family but sit and read. But I couldn't put them down. Soooo good!

Second - you can make vinyl lettering? Get out! I just ordered some for my laundry room a few weeks ago. Wish I'd have known - I'd have ordered from you! Such a clever girl you are.

And again, your kids are adorable!

Jeff and I rented a 4 wheeler in Costa Rica the last time we went and I could never relax because I kept imagining us splattered on the ground. They didn't give us any helmuts. Looking back it was fun. Looks like you had a fun time though. Mountain Meadows sounds sort of depressing but a fun adventure none-the-less.

I know what you mean about the Twilight obsession - I dreamed about Edward for like weeks after I read it. And once I finished book three, I picked book one up and started it again. That's funny that Devon is into it, too. I love sharing stuff like that with people.

P.S. I bought the book...can't wait to start reading it.

A book about vampires? You've got to be kidding me. Can't you just stick with regular human dramas...where people fall in love with people? Whatever. I guess there's a reason for the giant crowd standing outside of Barnes and Noble a few weeks ago when the latest (and hopefully final) book in the series came out.

Sounds like such a fun trip, but you do know to absolutely, positively stay away from four wheelers? I too, like everyone, loved the vampire books- I'm just sad that I've gone through all the vampire books, all the Harry Potters, all the Vince Flynn- it must be time to start on the Book of Mormon again!

Michael, Michael...tsk, tsk. DO NOT mock the vampire books until you have read them. I, myself, said the same thing. I did not think I would find a book wherein I would fall in love with a teenage vampire. But I did. And I have. Diane...get reading!
