This weekend Devon's parents came into town for the blessing of their newest grand baby, Gweniveve Lynn Yaden (Darci's baby girl). As usual, most holiday weekends end up being less restful than we would like, but fun. We spent Saturday doing chores, attending the ward picnic, and then I took Taylor and Luke to see "Shrek the Third." This was quite a milestone for Luke. The last time we took Luke to see a movie, in the Theatre, he only lasted about 45 minutes. Devon was a little nervous for me to take the two kids by myself, but I really felt confident that it would be fine. They both sat through the entire movie!!! It was so cute to hear them laugh out loud to certain parts that they thought were funny and to hear them talk about it on the drive home. Devon was amazed that I survived the experience and didn't spend the majority of the movie chasing Luke around the Theatre. Sunday, we attended the blessing and visited with family. It is always good to see family, but the visits are always too short! Monday, Devon's parents drove down from Darci's house to spend the day with us. We met up with them at the beach. As you can tell, Blake LOVES the beach!

Devon built his Kiddie Tidepool in the sand and the kids had a blast climbing in and out of it and dumping sand and rocks inside. People kept stopping to see what the kids were playing in and to compliment Devon on his clever idea.

The Day started out really overcast and cold, but around 10:30 the haziness burned away and it turned out to be the most beautiful day at the beach. It is always so much work to go to the beach, but once we're there I really enjoy it! This picture is of me with Devon's mom, Helen.

I thought his picture was so cute because Taylor is trying to make Luke pose for the picture and Luke is just laughing at her.

It is always sad to say good-bye to family when they leave. I think both Devon and I were both a little emotional after his parents left, but also a little rejuvenated from having them there as well. Life is good when Utah visits California.

Looks like such a fun weekend! Always great to have doting grandparents on hand to spoil the kids rotten.
I miss the beach! I love the picture of Blake with all his cute rolls...I just want to blow on his tummy and kiss his cheeks! Taylor's swimsuit is super cute, too...I would wear one like that!
Cute pictures! It makes me a bit homesick for the beach. I know what you mean about how much work it is to get there though. Once you're there it's fun, but getting there is always a chore! Then when you leave the beach you have to contend with all that sand!! I always think of the ad where the mom blows her kids off with the yard blower before they get inside her car...that's something I would do. Tell Taylor she looks just like a little model posing for her picture.
I should just be there with you on the beach. I love the ocean and the sand. I can't get over the kids and their individuality. Taylor is such a beautiful girl and the way she poses for pictures. Luke is his own little man and he is going to do his Luke thing. How I love the pictures. Blake does have such cute little rolls it's like his arms and legs are just screwed on. Love ya
