This is Luke...

It has been said that when you are a child, the front part of your brain (the part that makes decisions) is under construction and that is why they, often, make poor decisions.
Here is Luke's story and proof that the "decision-making part of his brain" is still "under construction!"
Now, does this picture look like anything fun to play with? To me, it doesn't, but when you are a 4-year old boy, and your name is Luke, it does. Luke saw this plug and thought, "hmmm, I wonder what would happen if I do this..."

He decided to stick a penny in-between the tiny slot that connects the plug to the outlet. Not very smart, but when your brain is "under construction," and you are a 4-year old boy, named Luke, everything seems like a good idea!

Here is what happens...you experience a large JOLT, the penny melts, and your outlet and plug are slightly charred.

Thank goodness Luke wasn't hurt. Luckily, the JOLT scared him enough to, hopefully, not do this EVER again, but, as you can tell, this is evidence that his brain is still "under construction."

luckily he's alive to see the completion of this brain under construction!!! Luke!
Well,Makenna and I thought it was funny(haha) it is something that all little boys try once we hope and never again!!! Tell Luke that his Grandma is watching him!! He better be good, Santa watching him to and Jesus to.... Lots of people love him and he better watch out(hehe)
OH MAN!! See, these are the things that I am obsessively paranoid about! I am so glad he is okay! He is so cute by the way! My neice Maddi (Kirks oldest) did something like that once, and her fingers were stuck together for days!!
That is so SCARY. I can't believe that. He is so lucky. Thank heavens it wasn't worse.
GEEZ!!!! That's something I can already see Parker doing. GREAT! I thought the outlets with stuff plugged in were safe...I guess not!
I can't believe Luke did that. One day after church when I was somewhere between 12 and 14, we made some sort of wire contraption and stuck it in one of the outlets in the cultural hall. I think it was Paul who stuck it in, but it blew the plug and the sparks came rolling out left little burn marks on the basketball court. I don't think that outlet worked for a long time after that...thanks to the P1 Deacons.
Oh wow. We all have stories like this I think. My sister and I thought the little holes would make great hanging spots for our Barbie hangers. So we made them little closets and started hanging stuff in them. Luckily my mom came in a put a stop to it. Real smart. I'm really glad he is ok. Scary.
Whoa!! That's scary!! Great way to illustrate the story with the brain comparison! Very cute! Are you a scrapbooker by any chance cuz you're journaling totally rocks! I remember my brother Sam sticking a key in a socket once in our Placentia house. Not a good idea!
The adventures of Luke is giving all of a JOLT. I remember Uncle Steve puting a safety pin in 220 volt socket that we plugged our heater in to heat our house. It melted the pin and gave Steve a really large jolt and fortunately he survived it. I guess little boys are just going to do these things and HOPEFULLY learn their lessons from the one experience. Your blogs are really great and very descriptive. Love you and wish you were closer in miles but this is great.
Little boys are such fun! Carson once swallowed a penny and had to go to the ER, only to have it come out sparkling new the next morning! There is always one that keeps us on our toes!
That is soooo scary! How do they think of these things?? I'm so glad he wasn't hurt!
LOL I remember doing that with a dime a long time ago. good times:)
Sheesh, lucky he didnt get shocked or start a fire. I love the "under construction" that so makes sense. Do you think adult brains could use that excuse too...like me :D
Hi Honey,
When I was a little boy I put my finger between the two plugs on something. I had a rude awakening that I remember to this day.
Fortunately we learn from these mistakes.
I love you
Dad
