As many of you know, I have committed myself to listening to the radio to win $25,000.
I have also instructed the husband and the children NOT to touch my lucky dollar bill that I stashed away in the ash tray of my car. That way, if I needed to call the radio station, while in the car, my lucky dollar bill could be easily accessed.
Friday, I took my car in to have the oil changed and washed (they actually wash it for you after they change the oil--it's a very nice combination).
Later, that day, when I heard the contest announced on the radio, I quickly grabbed my cell phone and reached for my dollar bill...IT WAS NOT THERE!!
I called the husband, he didn't take it (he didn't dare!).
The children hadn't been in the car, so they didn't take it!
Where is my dollar bill???
I am blaming the guy who changed my oil or the guy who washed the car...I think one of them stole my lucky dollar bill!
Aaahhh!!! I wonder how often I leave there with change missing from my ash tray.
Good thing I didn't tip the guy--he tipped himself!
I guess my lucky dollar bill wasn't so lucky after all.

How lame is that! People stealing stuff from your car. It's not the first time though. That's why when we get our oil changed or anything else done to the car, we lock the glove box and clean all the stuff out, just in case. I don't trust people! Which is sad, but life has unfortunately thought me not to.
sorry... meant to say 'life has taught me not to.'
What the crap!!! I would be so upset. What is the world coming to??? I know it is only a dollar but it is the principle of the thing, no stealing. Oh well you will have to win money from some other contest. I will keep my ears tuned to one.
It was a lucky dollar bill for someone. Geesh! With such inflation these days, I wonder what he got for himself? Candy bar? Condom? Hope it was something good.
You know unfortunately you have my kind of luck. I have a friend that goes to her cabin and it is in Idaho so she can buy lottery tickets. I give her some money every once in awhile and it gives me something to dream about. In the back of my mind I know I won't ever win, but part of me likes to think of all the things I would do with the extra cash, and let me tell you I dream big. I hope the candy bar tasted good to the guy who took your lucky buck and sorry you had your dreams dashed. I guess the closest we get to come to winning is knowing Joe and "The Price is Right"
Oooh that makes me mad. It makes you feel so violated when things like that happen. Perhaps it is because it was the wrong dollar bill and now you will pull out another one that has the real lucky number on it.
Nothing is safe anymore. Not even a $1.00 bill! How many of those has he taken out of how many cars per day, thinking no one will miss it? I wonder how much he has "stolen"?
Sorry, I have had my purse stolen a couple of times and it just really irks me!!!!
Are you guys moving? I thought I read something in your last blog about someone coming to see the house...are you guys doing ok?
That is SOOOOOOOO irritating! I really get mad thinking about it...what an idiot!
Kelly says he takes reports all the time from people who have had stuff stolen while their cars get washed or worked on. It is so discouraging that most people aren't honest these days!
I was wondering if you guys are moving too?
