What I'm Doing Today

Today I would rather be...
  • Laying on the beach, somewhere in the Virgin Islands soaking up the sun and drinking a cold drink.
  • In Nashville, kissing my new niece, spending time with my family, and meeting my brothers girlfriend.
  • At the spa getting a massage, facial, pedicure, and manicure.
  • Going to the movies and admiring McDreamy on the big screen.
  • Taking a nap.
  • Spending my imaginary $25,000 at the mall, nearest car dealership, or local travel agency.
However, today, I am actually doing this...
  • Discovering that the quick $20 I put in my gas tank yesterday has already been gobbled up. Yes, 20 bucks for 5 gallons...isn't that insane!
  • Realizing that an hour is not enough time to take a shower and get dressed, dress the kids, feed the kids, pack lunches, and make sure all beds are made, dishes are done and house is clean before I leave (in case anyone drops by to see the house while I am gone) and fill the car up with gas before leaving to teach my class.
  • Freaking out because the oil light, in the car, comes on while on my way home from my class.
  • Rushing to get the oil changed and making a quick stop at Target for laundry soap and a birthday present for Taylors friend.
  • Shaking a sippy cup to mix the chocolate milk and discovering I hadn't put the lid on yet.
  • Reminding Luke to aim into the center of the toilet while cleaning up the splashes around it.
  • Wishing I was In Nashville with my brother and sister or somewhere tropical without any stress or worries.
  • Realizing it's only 1:00 in the afternoon and I still have so much more to do.
P.S. My lucky dollar bill has found no matches...sorry, no winners this time!

Sorry about your day. One day you will get to go on a Tropical vacation. That is always where I want to be.

I feel the same a lot of the time. I would love to pack the kids up and go somewhere fun (or even leave the kids and just pack Kelly up!) Then I snap back to reality and do the laundry or dishes instead!

Oh...that is so sad!! I really hate days like that!! The potty training boy's thing is pretty funny though!! One time Max said from the bathroom (as we can hear splashes hitting the tile), "um...guys...I was just turning around to look at those toys behind me...and I peed on the shower curtain." It WAS kind of funny, I sent Chuck in to do the clean up, thank goodness it was on a weekend!!! I hope tomorrow is better for you!!

Oh I sooo feel your pain! Especially for getting the house clean before you leave. Do you strap your kids in their carseats and then go back in to clean? That's the only thing I could do to prevent the tornados from tearing the house apart right behind me. It should be enough that the toys are picked up, but it has to sparkle too? I hated those days. It just feels like you aren't really living. You just clean all day. Sorry your day was so hectic. Have you been able to get through to the radio station yet? How's it been going with that?

I always love reading your blog- it just brings back so many memories of so many years ago! I'm so sorry your missing out on Nashville- that's always the hard part of everybody living everywhere!

That sounds just about like my day! Except the Nashville part. I'm not sure where I'd rather be, I'll have to noodle that one. In the meantime I'll just stick this out for now, clean up spills and wish for the tropics.

We do miss you!!! Yesterday Parker was asking about Taylor, Luke, and Blake. He wishes they were here too. I think we slept through some pretty bad weather last night. It's sunny today though...but we don't have a beach to go to. We'll update you later. Love ya!

Oh man... this was a funny post! Although, I know how you feel. Too often I have those days that when I go to bed at night, I think to myself: I hope I don't ever have to re-live this day again!'

Even though we're in Nashville, I think we all wish we were out in CA with you, the beach, the sun, and the kids! CA seems to be the only place where we all meet up these days.

I hate those kinds of days. I hate it when family is all together and I am the one that can't be there. That has happened many times to me. Hope you had a fun night last night. Hope we can get everyone together to do sundaes soon.

Why isn't real life sometimes as fun as our imaginary life? Hang in there, friend.

Okay, the sippy cup thing made me laugh! Sorry about the crazy day though. Sounds like 3 full days packed into one morning!

We've really missed you, but if you'd been here we wouldn't have been able to read about you shaking chocolate milk all over the floor!
