We are finalizing our packing and moving on Saturday. This has been an emotional week of goodbyes and exhaustion. Although we will miss this house, we will miss this place and the people we love SO much more! Here are my final favorite memories made in this house:
- The day I came home from a play date at the park and discovered water pouring off the back of the house. I had put a load of laundry in to wash, before I left, and forgot to close the lid. The water never stopped running and completely flooded the house.
- Teaching a year of Joyschool out of my house...hectic, but fun!
- Celebrating birthdays, new births, and baby blessings. I still can't believe how much the kids have grown!
- Christmas morning.
- Planting grass, outside in the dark, in the backyard, the night before Taylor's first "friend" party so they could have grass to play on.
- The day an "FBI Agent" knocked on my door, showed me his identification, and asked to view my property because they were investigating someone who lived in a similar house. Without even blinking I let him in. After he left, I started freaking out, realizing what I had just done, and worried he wasn't really an "FBI Agent" and would come back to get me. He never came back.

What a sweet post! I didn't realize how many memories come wrapped up in a home! It really makes me think about what memories I can create!
Good luck with the move....it will be fun having you in Utah!
This post made me cry for some reason! I'm sad that I won't get to say goodbye to your house. I have lots of memories of driving until super late to get to your house and sleeping on the air mattress in your living room. Or Devon calling me in the morning telling me you were sick and wanting me to drive out to help you for the day. And surprising you with a visit after Luke was born. And Blake's baby blessing when Parker looked like a giant next to him! I'm really excited to have you closer, though, so I'm over your house! It's just a house! Love you!
Poor thing...(((hugs)))
Moving can be a sad thing, but also a good thing. I am sure you will make the best out of your new place and have lots of new friends to add to the list you already have!
I'll be thinking about you!
Oh and by the way, your house looks so pretty and CLEAN!
Even though I didn't like my last house, I was sad to leave because there will always be a part of us there. A lot of life happens that make a house a home and you can start fresh in a new place with lots of fun new memories to make.
I never heard where you were moving, besides somewhere in Utah.
Hopefully its somewhere close.
Maybe we could get your mom and dad back here too!
This totally made me cry, what it up with that???
You never told me about the FBI thingy, I would have freaked out also. No way would I have let him in without Brett, the attorney, here. So scary.
Good luck on your new adventures! You will do so great!
Your house looks beautiful! I know how sad it is to move, but it has to be a little bittersweet knowing that you won't have to keep your house looking like a model home from now on. Good luck with your move and hopefully we will see you!
Hopefully you'll love your new house just as much! Just think of all the new memories you'll be able to make in it.
I thought the FBI thing was funny/weird. I told my husband about it, and we discussed what I would do in that situation :)
What great memories! I am looking forward to hearing about the move and your new adventure.
Wow, it happened so fast! I'm excited and anxious for you! A lot of adjusting ahead, but you have a great outlook and wherever you go, you'll benefit those around you!!!! Good luck with everything! :)
You're moving on. San Diego will always be a sweet memory. Just take it a day at a time. Change is good. Hard, but good! Sure do love you!
Now that you're 7 hours closer, I'll be able to visit you three times as much.
SAD! Jeff and I got into town yesterday and were in a depression. Jeff said he felt "weird" and I said no the feeling was not weird but really sad. It is almost like we moved from something too and have to start again. Kristen said it was really odd at church because you guys weren't there. YUCKY. I hope your move was ok. Can't wait to hear from you. Love you.
I've come to your blog 3 times on this post intending to leave a comment and been side tracked by my kids every time!!!
It must be so hard to leave your house!!! We are excited that you will be closer...I hope we get to see you more:)
The FBI thing sounds like something I would do and then feak out about. The other day I talked to a guy about alarm systems and then freaked out that he would come back to get us because now he knew that we didn't have one!!! Too funny!!!
