Goodbye Summer, Hello Winter

Goodbye warm, summer mornings at the park...

Hello 32 degrees and hot chocolate...
Goodbye flip flops, barefeet, shorts, and playing with the hose and mud in the backyard...

Hello, snow, winter coats, sweatshirts, long pants, socks and close-toed shoes...

Goodbye beach {{oh, wait. we already said goodbye to that}}, suntans, and air conditioning...

Hello, heated indoor pools, snowballs, snowmen, rosy cheeks and noses, and extra blankets...

Goodbye popsicles, green leaves, bright flowers, blue skies, and bicycles...

Hello, bare trees, runny noses, fireplaces, slippery roads, and snow sleds.

Looks like your kids enjoyed the snow!!! I am not sad to say goodbye to summer but I was hoping for more of a Fall this year. I love Fall and Spring.

I tagged you on my blog!!! :)

Well, I was actually a little jealous looking at all that snow. We're still hovering around 90 degrees. I so love fall and winter clothes and layering, but alas, it is not to be for me. Oh well, at least the indoor heated pool can console you a little bit. Or, another bonus, you don't need to shave your legs as often (at least I don't!) when you're in long pants all the time. :)

It just wouldn't be Utah without the white stuff. But I am always sad to say good-bye to the flip flops....

You make winter sound so appealing...but blah...I'm dreading it!

Oh by the way, I received the vinyl and it's great. Thanks for your help!

You've got snow! Our kids are patiently waiting for that first snow. I got bibs for everybody last week in preparation.

It is funny you mentioned runny nose. I realize during our two and a half years of stay in San Diego, we got sick once... Kai had a fever over Christmas. That is it!

I just want to know what happened to Autumn?

The bright side of snow...you find yourself blogging...A LOT!!!

My wish since I was little was why can't snow be warm? Wouldn't that be the best?

It looks like your kids are totally loving the snow!

I bet the kids are loving the snow, especially since Devon will totally build fun stuff with them. I can't wait for winter here, I want to wear my winter clothes, but I have to say I am so glad I do not have to deal with the snow, yuck! The kids are so cute, can't wait to see you guys in November.

I'm not ready for it! It's too soon for 30 degree morning walks to campus and snow falling off of trees and getting me wet. Make it go away...

I LOVE fall...and, I'm not really sure where it went! Hopefully this week will be a little more like fall again. Last year I was HUGE and pregnant all winter and loved going outside in the cold, this year I am already FREEZING! I can't believe how cold it has gotten so quickly!! Your kids are just so adorable:)

One great thing I do love about winter, our family LOVES to cuddle up together next to the fire and watch a good movie with lots of yummy winter treats! That's something I always look forward to!!

WOW, you've got snow! Cute pictures!
We're going to break record temps here this week...want to come and swim and get a tan! LOL

Sounds like the Diva lives near us. We have been having really warm days. The leaves are changing though and it is going to be a beautiful Fall. I am one of those crazy girls who loves the snow. I can't wait until you blog about the first big snow storm. When it comes, be sure to go outside and feel the quiet that can only happen on a snowy night.

It's awful! The first snowfall can be a bit nostalgic but after that it just sucks. Get yourself some handwarmers for those mornings of scraping ice off the winshield. Jeff used to turn the car on and heater a half our before church started when we had the early morning schedule in Provo. We liked it nice and toasty. We were such babies. I'll have to show these pictures to Nicky. She will be very envious of the snowballs. She's been wetting wads of toilet paper lately and throwing them at people saying they're snowballs.

I sort of miss all that stuff. Well, definitely not the shoveling snow and driving on icy roads. But I do miss the change of seasons. It is funny how after living in Arizona for 4 years, 70 degrees feels down right chilly!

Are you kidding??? I can't believe it has already snowed there. That's so funny...it got really cold here (as in 77) for 2-3 days and we were all freaking out about how cold it was. I rushed to the stores to find winter clothes for my kids and look for jammies. And I tried really hard to resist the urge to turn on my heat :) Ok, well I guess it's not that cold!

Too bad Utah sort of skips Spring and Fall and head straight into Summer and Winter. What's with snow in October? Yikes. It's gonna be a long winter. Thank goodness for hot chocolate! :)

Yikes!! Sounds cold! Glad I don't live in that anymore. Sarah says to say "Hi and she loves you and misses you!!"

Do your poor kids have any coats and boots? We had to buy them last year, too. It made me a little mad.

I know! I can't believe it's already snowed! Ugh! It seems like it went from winter to summer and straight back to winter (almost) again. I miss our San Diego! We are planning on going during December. It would be fun to stop by and say hi to you guys on our way! Well you are lucky to be next door to a heated indoor pool. Miss you!
