Boring, Or Not, This Is My Life Today...

I have been tagged a couple of times and decided a show and tell of my life, today, would be the best way to reciprocate it.

So. After much thought, I thought all of my fellow interpeeps might enjoy a glimpse into my small-town life, as experienced, today.

WILDLIFE, DIRT, AND A "BUILT-FOR-BOYS" BACKYARD: As you can see, Luke has been spending all of his time making his own man-made Lake/River. He spends hours digging the route the water will flow and filling it with water. He and Blake also enjoy catching beetles, grasshoppers, and ants. Thanks to their cousin, they have now learned how to drown the bugs in water and bubbles...and they ENJOY it!! I have no idea where these genes came from...they are not mine!
They are also enjoying their freedom (maybe a little too much) of traveling to and from our house to their cousins. Yes, even 2-year old Blake makes his way over to their house all by himself.

MY NEMESIS, A.K.A., MINIATURE LEGOS:
I pick them up, they get dumped out. I pick them up, they get dumped out AND scattered! I pick them up, they get dumped, scattered, AND thrown AND used as weapons!! I could not get myself to pick them up today. They have been on the floor all morning and all afternoon. Seriously. What is the point?!

MY FIRST TRIP TO THE OPTOMETRIST:
After having 30 years of 20/20 vision it is no longer so. For the last few months, I have been experiencing headaches and blurriness in my right eye. Today I found out I have astigmatism and need glasses. Oh, the joys of turning 30. However, as a thank you, I was sent home with this cute gift bag filled with chocolates, glass cleaner, an the most giant pen I have ever seen. I am assuming people with poor eye sight need big pens? I don't know.

NEMESIS #2, THE DISHES:
At 7:30, I finally unloaded the dishwasher, rinsed the dishes in the sink, and reloaded the dishwasher...yippee!! Aaahh, a clean sink and counter always feels good.

NEW DANCE SHOES:
Tomorrow I teach my first official dance class. It is going to be a combination of Hip Hop, Swing, and Tease. In honor of my big day, I purchased these new dance shoes. Aren't they cute? I think they will definitely put some Hip Hop, Swing, and Tease into my step. I can't wait to wear them!

Now, I just have to decide what to wear...pink or blue? I need to look good on my first day........
wish me luck!!!

Your work-out outfits are so dang cute...they look so much cuter than my ugly old shorts picture on my blog!! I can't WAIT to fit into something like that again!!!! Good luck on your new job...which one did you end up choosing?

I like the blue. The legos make me laugh. I remember those from your house here.Drowning bugs in bubbles brings back memories of my childhood. Though instead of drowning we would put firecrackers down ant holes and watch everything explode. Love the shoes. Good luck with your dance class. I am sure you will do great.

PS. I have a stigmatism too. I just wear the glasses to drive at night. It's nice to have a pair of glasses you can wear when you want to look smart.

Look at those huge houses! Wow!
I can sympathize with you about the Legos. I will never take them away from the kids because they are good for their creativity and brain development and all, but i am tempted sometimes. Now that Quinn is mobile, I am extra careful trying to keep them off the floor. It drives me crazy. We don't have swear words in Japan, but if we did, I know my mom was swearing when she stepped on Legos.

It takes real talent to turn the mundane into an entertaining post, and you've done it! Blake is just one of the kids and must be loving the newly gained independence he's experiencing. I used to sit in the backyard and smash rocks to see what the inside looked like. Casey Linford and I used to throw dirt clots at our back wall. We stopped when the dirt went over the wall and the neighbors yelled at us. Backyards are full of adventure. Maybe you should move the legos out there... PS, eat your heart out, I'm going to Hawaii. If you wanna join me, tickets are always really cheap to Hawaii out of Vegas. Maybe when I'm rich and/or famous, I'll buy you some.

Glasses? I hope you look like Lisa Loeb in them!

HOW FUN! I loved your pictures! Thanks so much for playing!
I HEART the outfits and the shoes too! I bet you will be darling in which ever one of them you chose. I would like to know which one made the cut!

I think you should wear pink! Seems like it looks good on you, at least in the pictures I've seen. Good luck! I LOVE to dance. If I would live down there, I would be the first one to sign up on one of your lessons!

Tease, as in strip tease workout classes? I would like you to post a whole tutorial on that, please. I think that sounds like a skill I need to learn.

I would wear the blue, your eyes will stand out and look awesome great 1st impression. Glad the kids are having fun, I bet they love having grandma around and all the cousins. I agree with the legos, I would just leave them there, Gwenie does this with her clothes in her dresser, sometimes I just give up.

Oh, you're so much nicer than me about the legos. I stepped on them with bare feet a couple of times after not wanting to pick them up for the billionth time. Then they went into the garbage and I haven't bought or accepted more since. Ha! :) Also, I like both shirts, I say blue though. And those are cute shoes. Good luck! :)

Dirt, Water and Mud that sound like a little boys dream!! Anything to keep them busy is GREAT!! I am glad to say that my kids never did get into Lego's and I am SO glad. But somedays you will find Star Wars action figures and all the girls dress up toys all over the house, so I feel your pain. Steve has been out of town so I am SAD to say my wife duties have taken a VACATION, I finally just did the dishes from Monday night tonight. How SAD!! As for the outfit I would have to say blue, even if pink is STILL my favorite color. BEST OF LUCK teaching for first class, I am sure you will ROCK!!

I like the blue!! You would look cute in a paper sack, so you don't even need to worry! :) I love how you capture moments in your life and share them with us. And I love how boyish your boys are!

Cute shoes and good luck on the new job!

Aren't boys crazy? How do they invent these crazy schemes that always involve killing bugs. My boys are obsessed too!

As far as Lego's go...I gave all mine to Robyn...good luck Robyn!! I figured it was someone elses turn to enjoy the stepping on, picking up and throwing! My boys seemed to use them for everything EXCEPT building!

I have astigmatisms in both eyes...I'm pretty blind...something about age 30 though....unfortunately things start to slowly go down hill...literally!!!

Your shoes are so cute! They look super comfy to dance in too. I really like the blue...Either way, your a 30 year old blonde hottie...so no one will really notice your outfit!!! Good luck!

ok, the area you are in is so beautiful. It sounds like Kedrick and Brock's dream life! Kevin has often said what they need is a yard full of soft dirt for building roads in, sand is no good. Boys need dirt. Good luck with your new class. I love your new shoes!

Oh Kimberly- you are so creative! I know by now you have already taught your class... (how did it go?) I like the blus shirt.

Your back yard looks so fun! and is that your house with the HUGE windows? WOW! It's beautiful! Your such a cute mom!
